I would leave 0 stars but thats not an option. UKV was contracted through our home warranty company. There was almost a 2 week period before they made any contact with me. They sent a message giving me an appointment time that unfortunately did not work with our work schedules. I tried to message and call the company several times without any return messages or calls. I had to call the warranty company for them to contact UKV and ask them to reach out to me. The technician was scheduled to arrive between 8 and noon, and finally arrived after 4pm. Unfortunately they did not call or message to state they were running late. When he looked at the unit he stated that the fan motor needed to be replaced, and stated he would file the appropriate claims with the warranty company for approval. I didn't hear anything for over a week, so I reviewed our home warranty portal and they had closed the claim as if they had completed the work. I again tried to call the company without any return communication. I called the home warranty company and explained that the work had not been completed and that UKV was supposed to be ordering the part. The home warranty company reached out and was able to communicate with UKV and get the claim reopened. We were scheduled for the technician to install the part and they did not arrive. I reached out via text to the company but did not receive a message back. I then tried to call, but did not receive an answer or call back. When the home warranty company called them they stated that they had come to our home but no one was here. There was no communication from them that day, and we were here waiting for them. The appointment was yet again rescheduled. I reviewed our warranty portal and UKV had again marked the claim as closed before making any repairs. Yesterday, the technician came to our home and installed the part, but has left exposed wiring that would appear to pose an electrical shock hazard. He also scratched the metal top to the unit on the concrete creating deep gouging which will allow for early rusting of the unit. I would not recommend this company!
I've had them help twice in my home now. Once for the AC this summer and recently got the gas heater and blower. O would highly recommend them to someone looking for HVAC work in the Charleston area. These folks are local to West Virginia and I couldn't be happier to support a small local business. Everyone was super professional and friendly. They were clear in their pricing and made accommodations where they could to better fit my family's schedule.
What a quick response and awesome customer service. Zach was so conscientious to be sure he was neat and even cleaned out the inside of the fireplace cabinet. He was very knowledgeable and shared some tips for our gas fireplace We will keep them on speed dial for the future!
