These guys are the best. Responsive, insightful and do incredibly good work. Just had them help us put in some new fans and lights. Jeff and Jake did an exceptional job. Would highly recommend them for any project. Thanks again Skyline.

Great service! We had to accomplish a huge task of removing our knob and tube and re-wiring our house. Jeff was wonderful to work with, giving us options and explaining the key fixes and options to lower our costs. All while explaining that our house had some major electrical issues and helping us feel safe in our house again. Planning to have them back in the future to update our garage wiring!!

2 years ago they installed recessed lighting on our entire main floor and updated our electric panel. We were very happy with their work and hired them again to install ceilings lights in our bedrooms. There were a couple hiccups this time but they came back right away and addressed them. They also are great at communication. We plan to use them again in a couple years to finish a couple more projects.

Common Questions

Skyline Electric serves homeowners throughout the Northeast Metro suburbs, including Saint Paul, Woodbury, Roseville, and White Bear Lake. As a locally owned company based in Roseville and White Bear Lake, we focus on these communities to ensure consistent service, understanding of local building codes, and accountability to our neighbors. Our service area covers the Northeast Twin Cities region for all residential electrical needs.
For electrical panel upgrades and replacements, Skyline Electric starts with a thorough assessment of your home's current electrical system to identify capacity issues or safety concerns like outdated fuse boxes. We handle the entire process, including obtaining necessary permits, installing modern circuit breakers, and ensuring compliance with National Electrical Code standards for safe power distribution. Homeowners appreciate our clear communication throughout, making the upgrade straightforward and stress-free.
Knob and tube rewiring by Skyline Electric addresses outdated wiring common in older homes, which can pose fire hazards due to insulation degradation and limited capacity for modern appliances. Our licensed electricians carefully remove the old system and install new NM-B (Romex) cable or conduit-protected wiring, rerouting circuits to meet current load requirements and code. We prioritize minimal disruption to your home, with proper permitting and testing to ensure reliable, safe electrical performance.
Yes, Skyline Electric specializes in hot tub and sauna electrical wiring, providing dedicated 240-volt circuits with GFCI protection to handle the high amperage demands safely. We assess your home's panel capacity, run appropriately sized conductors, and install junction boxes or subpanels as needed, all while following NEC guidelines for outdoor or wet-location installations. Our local team ensures the setup is permitted and inspected for peace of mind in the Northeast Metro area.
Skyline Electric's EV charger installation begins with an on-site evaluation of your electrical panel's available capacity and the best location for the Level 2 charger to minimize voltage drop. We install the necessary 240-volt circuit using THHN wire in conduit, hardwire the charger, and integrate it with your home's grounding system per NEC Article 625. Throughout, we communicate timelines, secure permits, and perform load calculations to support your electric vehicle without overloading your service.
For portable generator setup, Skyline Electric installs a manual transfer switch to safely connect your generator to specific circuits like lights and refrigeration, preventing backfeeding hazards to the utility grid. We wire the inlet box with appropriate gauge conductors and ensure interlock kits on your panel comply with local codes for seamless power transfer during outages. Our process includes testing the system and providing guidance on safe operation for reliable backup power in Saint Paul and surrounding suburbs.
Skyline Electric's electrical troubleshooting starts with diagnostic tools like multimeters and circuit tracers to pinpoint issues such as faulty breakers, ground faults, or overloaded circuits in your residential system. Once identified, we perform targeted repairs, like replacing damaged wiring or upgrading connections, always with proper lockout/tagout procedures for safety. We explain findings in plain terms, ensure all work is permitted if required, and test for optimal performance to restore reliable electricity without unnecessary replacements.
