Pacific Outdoor Living

It all started with our desire to mitigate the fire risk to our property. We had several wooden structures connected to, or in close proximity, to our house. We also needed our pool remodeled. I checked reviews and quickly saw that Pacific Outdoor Living (POL) was at the head of the class with complete yard remodeling, including landscape and hardscape. We approached POL with a hazy version of what we wanted. We quickly learned that POL had a very detailed process, almost like engineering a new product: first, establish detailed data of the area, then help the customer crystalize their vision of the end result by working with a knowledgeable designer within customer's artistic desires and engineering realities, i.e. budget and schedule. Upon customer's approval, come up with a reasonable implementation schedule that permits quality work and, at the same time, effective use of POL manpower. POL is a large organization compared to many local landscape companies, and, to make all the above work, it quickly became evident that they put a lot of time and energy into making all the above work! And it DID! Once we decided to proceed, POL sent a person to survey our entire property. She took detailed photos from every angle, measured elevations, existing structures and fences. In effect, she created almost a 3-D picture of the whole workspace. There was a small fee for that which would be applied to the project if we ultimately decided to proceed. Following that, we had a preliminary appointment with a designer, Julian, to discuss our thoughts about what we wanted to achieve. At a follow-up appointment, Julian presented a preliminary plan. We decided to proceed, and Julian worked up a detailed plan, complete with suggested plants. Julian even had us visit former customers to see what POL had done for them, and everyone of those customers gave POL their highest recommendation. A few budget constraints necessitated making some changes, but we decided to proceed!! At that point, the project started with significant amount of demolition followed by the great experience of watching a well-oiled process create a beautiful landscape of native plants, a patio cover, built-in fire pit, lighting, irrigation, drainage, and 3000 ft² of concrete pavers in our yard. Overall, very few problems arose, and POL even suggested some changes on the job due to old gas lines and electrical conduits that needed to be replaced. Obviously, we give Pacific Outdoor Living our highest recommendation! They worked within our budget constraints and made suggestions that enriched our design, then brought it to life!

Pacific Outdoor Living is very professional without losing that personalized touch! Our yards were not that big but they treated us like million dollar customers! From the first time I called til the day they packed and left, it was all seamless and stress free. The yards look great and neighbors are envious! Specially mention to Jose, Onesimo and his crew! We used Pacific Outdoor Living for a complete backyard makeover three years ago, and it still looks amazing today. Their process made all the difference. They first came to our house, then created a CAD drawing along with a cost estimate. You pay for that step, and if you want to move forward, the next step is a 3D drawing. After reviewing the drawings, they move into preparing the plans, and once you receive those, you sign the contract and the work begins. It’s a great way to see exactly what you’ll be getting before making the full commitment. We met with several other companies and even paid two of them to complete drawings, but Pacific’s was the only one that truly captured what we wanted. They stayed on time and on budget. To clarify, we adjusted our budget to achieve the features we wanted, but Pacific completed the project for the exact price they quoted. They did subcontract the patio to Tiger Patio, which brought some unnecessary complexity to the project. The patio looks beautiful, but it did come at an additional cost. Everything else, however, was handled beautifully by Pacific. Even now, three years later, they have continued to be a resource whenever we’ve had questions about maintenance. Overall, Pacific Outdoor Living delivered outstanding work with a thoughtful, step-by-step process that makes you confident in your investment. We would definitely recommend them for anyone considering a backyard transformation.
