I called Hauck from a referral from Ohio Heating. I am outside Ohio Heating's service area (commercial customer of theirs, so I was trying to stick with them). I called and someone actually answered. I spoke with Adrian of Hauck Bros on the phone. She was very nice and helpful. I explained the issue; a light knock on the HVAC when the furnace kicked on, 2-3 times and then nothing until it cycled on the next time. With how life has been kicking me in the teeth lately, I wanted to do a PM and have that noise figured out before another catastrophic event happened leaving me with no heat. They got me scheduled quickly and 3 days later, Jacob #396 came out. He was very kind. He changed my air filter first with one I had. My husband didn't replace it at the beginning of the month like we do every month (we have 4 LARGE German Shepherds and need to replace it monthly due to dander and having a dog door open all the time). Once he replaced the filter, he then got the unit kicked on and asked if I heard the noise. Of course, just like a car mechanic, no noise. He said the filter was pretty full and the suction from the over-full filter was causing the sides of the duct work to flex in and he pushed on the side of the duct above the filter and that was the noise!!!!! He said next time you hear that noise, that is your queue to change the filter! LOL!!! The filter was definitely in need of a change...After he completed the full clean/inspection, he said the unit was in good working order (thank goodness!!!) and we chatted about a couple random things as he wrote up the paperwork. He was so nice and kind. I really appreciated his demeanor (very laid back and easy going) and kindness. Like I said, life has been extra hateful to me lately, so kindness goes a lonnnng way with me. Thank you so much Jacob, I really appreciate you. Hopefully he is assigned to us from now on. I did start Hauck's PM yearly plan to make sure this HVAC unit stays in good working order. Thank you for getting me in quickly and the great customer service that I received. 💜💜💜
My heat pump quit working so I called to have them come out and look at it. First the tech told me that the heat pump doesn’t run when it was that cold, which I knew wasn’t true because it had been running and I had has the system for years and knew how it ran. I pressed him and he finally went out and checked, sure enough it was out on low pressure. He told me he wasn’t going to do anything about it until the weather was better. This all took about 10 minutes and I was charged $200 for it. Most other hvac companies are half that. I called a competitor and they got me taken care of. It was clear the technician didn’t want to do anything and I threw away $200 to get told what I already told them was wrong. They did not follow up when the weather got better to arrange the repair.
Jacob was my service tech and he was awesome! He fixed my mini split and the pesky clicking noises have stopped. I noticed the unit is also heating the room much better! Thank you!
