In order to fire harden my Oakland hills home, I just had Golden State Builders Group replace my cedar shingles with Woodtone Hardie Board straight shingles (Old Cherry color). The shingles look fantastic which has also been confirmed by my neighbors. It was well worth the wait to get this particular shingle. The crew was fantastic and true professionals who knew what they were doing. I also installed Hardie soffit to cover my eaves. While no guarantee that my house won't burn down during a wildfire, I feel a little extra comfort in knowing that I'm that much more protected. Golden State replaced my old redwood deck that was rotting away. I was impressed with the Carmen and Johnathan who sold me on the idea of a Trex deck. The work was outstanding and the installers paid attention to every little detail. Appreciated that each night they cleaned up. This is a 400 square foot deck that took about 2 weeks to complete. Not only did they offer the best price, but I believe their experience outweighed the others. I was impressed with the answers to my questions and their patience with explaining details. They were also willing to start the job on our schedule, not theirs. Before hiring them, I contacted many of their references, used Google satellite to see their siding workmanship and, of course, read online reviews. Every reference was happy with the quality of their work and the online reviews were impressive. The quality/appearance, efficiency of their work is superior compared to other of our past siding projects and, as the HOA project manager, I appreciated their follow through on special requests and the care they took on keeping the sidewalks and common areas free of debris. I first interviewed Ben, but my primary point of contact after we signed the contract was with Carmen. She was available to me every step of the way - responding to my early morning and weekend questions. She's represents the best in customer service. I wish all companies had a Carmen! I have placed them on our preferred vendor list and won't hesitate to hire them again when we need more siding work done on our 50 year old buildings.
