Yesterday I woke up to 50 degree temperatures in my home. My heat was not working at all. I called South Jersey Gas and a rep came out advising that my igniter wasn't working and I needed to call HVAC immediately. I have 4 small children and could not be in my home without heat during one of the coldest winters and now I have a gas rep confirming how emergent the situation is so I started making calls. I called around to several places because I needed an immediate resolve and a lot of places didn't have someone that could come out quickly. Before Cardwell, I made the mistake of allowing another company to come and assess my situation. After taking a look at my heater, the gentlemen advised me that my heater is 17 years old (adding that my sticker read 2010) and that my only option was to replace my 17 year old heater with a brand new $7,000 one. After they left, I immediately called Cardwell and made an appointment. Shortly after I received a text about my technician, Eric, inclusive of a photo and short bio telling me a little bit about him. I liked Eric before I even met him lol. They also assessed that same unit, confirmed my igniter was bad, and advised they could REPLACE it for $500 (I paid a little more because I also signed up for their Gold Maintenance Plan) which they did and I now magically have heat. They left me a detailed report of their work and what immediately drew my attention me was their report noted that my heater is only FIVE YEARS OLD which was odd to me because the company that came out right before them said it was 17 years old so I was confused. It bothered me so much that I needed to do some research to determine which was accurate because, if in fact, I'm changing an igniter on a 17 year old heater Im liable to have more issues down the line but if it's only 5 years old should the igniter even be bad? Is it still under warranty? I had so many questions that needed answers. Luckily for me, Cardwell's Gold Package maintenance form was meticulous inclusive of each step they took during the diagnostic process with photos of each step. Those photos included my model and serial numbers for my Gibson heater so I was able to look it up myself and confirm that, in fact, my heater is only 5 years old AND still under warranty. I don't typically write reviews but I believe Cardwell is much deserving. They are honest, meticulous, efficient, professional. At a time where other businesses are trying to take advantage of individuals during desperate times, Cardwell's business integrity is held to a higher standard. I would and will recommend them to anyone who has HVAC & Plumbing needs. Thanks again, Eric and Cardwell! If not for you, I more than likely would have financed a brand new $7,000 heater that I couldn't afford and didn't even need!
The guys were so nice They and professional! I could not asked for more. They put cloths on the floor and cleaned up everything. They worked until finished. I'm so pleased with everything from the first repair man to the sales man to the installation. I certainly picked the right company. Also, the woman on the phone was very pleasant and helpful!
