We instantly liked Tom from our first meeting, and we just knew that our home would be in good hands. Our project took approximately 10 months to complete and Tom was there for every step of the way. Of course with a job of this size, unexpected issues are to be expected, but Tom handled everything with ease and grace. He made everything possible to make sure that our vision came to fruition. I cannot give enough accolades to Tom and TRP Construction. His team embodies everything you could ever dream about in a general contractor: professional, prompt, honest, trustworthy, responsive, and present on the job site. TRP Construction and Tom Prete did two major renovation projects for us - a kitchen and bath at my mom's and three bathrooms for me. The quality of the work in the kitchen and the 4 bathrooms is beyond superb, and to exacting professional standards. The end results in every single room are simply amazing. That alone is reason to hire TRP Construction. But the real reason is that Tom made renovating our home fun. Our three-bathroom project took approximately three months. Every single workday (Mon-Fri), Tom let us know who was coming to the door – and every single time someone showed up. The specific trades were uniformly timely, polite and expert craftsmen. You get to know someone pretty well through two major renovations – one of which was on-going where you live. Tom Prete and his team are what all contractors should be – professional, timely, honest, creative (in the best possible way) – while delivering a superb level of workmanship. The objective was to open up a wall between the original home and a later addition to create a bright, open and efficient kitchen/living space. It also involved transforming multiple small, inaccessible storage nooks into a modern laundry room. Tom impressed us from our first meeting with his expertise, character and depth of experience. He quickly understood our vision and what it would take to make that vision a reality. He tapped his network of experts, including a structural engineer, to develop a plan and secure all appropriate permits. Demolition for the new kitchen uncovered some surprises behind walls and ceilings from the 1800s, but Tom and the team responded quickly and creatively to keep the project on track. Like a symphony conductor, our terrific project manager, Sam, kept all the members of the construction orchestra (framers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, painters, flooring experts, etc.) coordinated, coming in and out at the right time, getting project milestones completed and ready for the next phase. The craftsmen were uniformly highly skilled, took pride in their work, and were just a pleasure to have around. In short, we are very pleased we chose Tom and his TRP team for our renovation.
