I had an emergency with my heat on one of the coldest weeks of Winter. I have two littles and was very nervous as there was a snow storm headed our way. My lanlord called many other companies who were all busy. A good friend of mine recommended R E Coogan, So I suggested she call them. Later that evening, Bobby was here to check things out for us. He moved some things around for us to ensure we had working heat before the storm. Bobby was the most personable and genuine person I’ve ever met. I called several companies that advertise 24/7 Service. I either didn’t get a call back or I was told they don’t work on Saturday! Bob Coogan personally called me back. Although he was with his family, he took the time to call me and tried to help me solve the problem. When that didn’t work, he came to the house and restored heat. After restoring the heat, he checked the entire system to make sure that it was operating properly and I would have no further problems. On a going forward basis, I will sign a contract with this company, and I feel confident that no matter when I call they will respond. This is what you want in a heating contractor reliable service. I had Coogan replace my hot water tank on their second visit. Once again prompt and efficient. They carefully protected my floors and finished in a relatively short time. With three kids and have no other means to warm house, I was panicked and worried. So I called Mr Coogan and left a message at 6pm (I was out in Boston for work and came back late). He returned my call and helped to identify the problem by phone. He did this free and to help me avoiding paying for his visit. We could not solve the issue by phone so he came to the house and worked 30min on it. He was kind, friendly and was simply trying to help. Finally the heating worked and it only cost under 400. For weekend, evening and emergency the rate was not only reasonable but also ethical. He stayed a while after the work so could make sure all runs fine. We had a cup of tea and talked about family. He was very caring and I felt a feel of community and trust. As being an immigrant, sometime I find it hard to trust people, especially for things that require professional skills. So being helped by Mr Coogan was a heartwarming experience.
