What followed was a frustrating experience that ultimately required legal action. The Work: Moon attempted the sealing twice. The first attempt failed to maintain minimum pressure (the reason became clear later). The second time, they claimed it completed successfully. However, my inspection revealed numerous gaps in ductwork with no evidence of sealing agent. I later found multiple entirely disconnected ducts in my crawlspace - critical issues that should have been flagged during the Aeroseal process, even if repairs weren't included in the scope. Third-Party Verification: Fortunately, my project was part of the Energize Delaware program. Their independent inspector confirmed my findings and shared they've seen similar quality issues with Moon's other Energize Delaware Aeroseal projects. This appears to be a pattern, not an isolated incident. I later learned that Moon was removed from the Energize Delaware program as a result of these quality issues. Moon's Response: When I contacted Moon about the defective work, they were dismissive. I initially gave them the opportunity to return and make it right - they stalled and ultimately refused. After finding them unable and unwilling to perform the work correctly, I requested a full refund. They stopped responding entirely. I even contacted Aeroseal corporate, who attempted to intervene on my behalf - to no avail. Legal Action Required: Left with no choice, I filed suit in Delaware Justice of the Peace Court (Case JP13-25-018413). Though they ultimately paid my claim, it's unfortunate it had to come to that. Bottom Line: While other work Moon performed for me was satisfactory, their handling of the Aeroseal project destroyed any trust. They appear to lack the technical skill to properly apply Aeroseal and seem to use it as an upsell to customers who can't technically evaluate the results. Homeowner beware! - 5/5 — Anonymous We’ve been working with Moon air for about two years now. They’ve come out a total of 4 times to service our unit since installing a whole system into our home. The installation went great and the technicians were very knowledgeable and got the job done efficiently. The last two times that we’ve had our unit serviced have been nothing short of great. Adrian was friendly, respectful, and informative when working on the unit and explained everything that he was going to do before he did it and took the time to make sure that we understood. This latest service was a real treat because he brought another technician as a helper to get the pan on the unit replaced. All of the work that was to be done was done in a timely manner and the whole time they were working they remained positive and updated us often on the progress. Very nice, personable pair. Communication is key so after our first two experiences with other technicians in the past, these last two experiences with the check in and the repair with Adrian and now Darnell was relieving. Unfortunately, my experience has been deeply disappointing, and I feel compelled to share a few SERIOUS issues. First, after the cleaning, my dryer—which has always worked flawlessly—suddenly malfunctioned. When I turned it on 8/16/25, it made a strange noise and shut off within a minute. The heat coming from inside was extreme (even though it was set to low), and there was a strong burning smell. I have never encountered this problem before, and I find it extremely unsettling that this would happen immediately after the cleaning. To add to this, when Jason, the Project Manager sold me this service, I was told that dryer vent cleaning was included, but Nate and Adrian were completely unaware of this detail. Secondly, while removing the registers, my recently spackled and painted bedroom walls sustained considerable damage. Their only solution was to caulk around the registers—without clearly explaining to me what had happened. I would NEVER have agreed to caulking as a fix, especially since I paid less than a week ago, $5,000 for the bedrooms to be freshly spackled and painted. Now, I have the added burden of removing the caulking and repairing the damage, which will cost even more money. Lastly, not all registers were cleaned as promised. One in particular, located in a bedroom, was completely missed. I sent photos to Jason that show what I was able to remove myself with a simple Q-tip for evidence. In summary, I am furious and devastated after paying $1,100 for a service that has led to damage and frustration in my home. At this point, I have zero confidence in the work that was done and would not recommend Moon Air to anyone considering their services. In sum, the cost for me to have air duct cleaning was $1,100 for air duct cleaning to Moon Air, plus $$$ to my contractor to repair walls, AND potentially the cost of a new dryer. PLEASE RUN from Moon Air. I feel as if I’ve literally been robbed…they’re a complete scam. I sent Jason an email and spoke with Tammy this morning. I have heard nothing…crickets, chirp, chirp… NOTE: Moon Air’s below response is completely inaccurate. They never spoke to me after their repairman came to my house. First, the repairman was very nice gentleman but the reality is when he looked at vents he stated it was obvious Moon Air just pulled them from walls which is what caused damage. The photos show the issues…had NOTHING to do with moving equipment through house?? Second, my house is now only repaired due to my hiring and paying my contractor to fix the walls and paint around my vents. The only truth in Moon Air’s response is they sent a repairman. - 5/5 — Anonymous Our heat pump and air conditioner replacement went off without a problem, however the installation guy's did something to our garage door opener system and it didn't work. We called the office to make sure that someone was coming out to fix it. We also mentioned that we intended to use anotherserviceprovider.
