Bill was honest, which is a quality that is hard to come by these days. He said that he could fix it, which would cost a little less than half the cost of a new water heater, he could replace it, or he could upgrade the system (we are thinking about switching to tankless in the future). Right now, right before Christmas, we opted for the fix. Bill came back and handled the fix, replacing basically everything except for the tank. Now I have plenty of hot water again.
