My wife and I visited KOB in Shelburne, Vermont. We worked with Katelyn Who was very helpful in choosing a vanity and countertop to go with it. When the countertop we had chosen became unavailable, Katelyn went the extra mile in finding one that suited us just as well. She facilitated communication with the manufacturers and communicated promptly with us about progress and delivery dates. Her professional and personal style made her both easy and pleasant to work with. The vanity and granite countertop are the centerpiece of our bathroom renovation and we are very pleased with the outcome. We are grateful to Kaitlyn and KOB for helping to make it happen in a timely manner.

We bought our cabinets through KOB in Vermont, 802 was the contracted company. We paid a lot of money to have our cabinets painted. When they were delivered, I immediately contacted KOB and in turn 802 to report the grossly negligent and unacceptable quality of my paint job and supplied many photos. I was told the incorrect color and below quality paint job was industry standard and they declined to correct or even work at all to remedy my horrendous cabinets. Furthermore, with additional photos and request to reconsider their position, I was told that I altered their sample door and that they would cease to communicate with me and did just that. I will be pursuing Legal action against not only KOB but 802, even though I remain open to a resolution.

We found KOB to be very helpful and professional during the design process. That changed after we gave them our money.

There were many issues (two misrepresentative renderings that cost us additional labor, weeks without updates or any timelines given, a product that was shipped incorrectly twice and an unwillingness by KOB to proactively address the issue until we threatened a negative review). Unfortunately, despite the fact that we overlooked many issues, the relationship came to a head when we realized that the room measurement, taken by a KOB employee (paid for by our contractor) and verified as entered correctly in the system was changed by mistake by KOB's designer midway through the process. Due to this designer mistake, we chose a $2k pantry that will not fit in our kitchen. We verified all the sizes of our cabinets before ordering, per our agreement, as we knew those were our responsibility. We didn't think to go back and double check to confirm that the designer didn't change the measurements of the room.

We expected that with such a clear mistake (which we can tie clearly to a dated revision sent to us by the designer) that KOB would offer a refund- or even offer a partial refund! Or at least an apology for this costly mistake. Unfortunately we were curtly informed that due to the fine print of the agreement, this mistake was our responsibility.

With fine print, there is a degree of good faith that is required by both sides, to have confidence that the agreement isn't going to be wielded as a weapon against what would be a common sense reading of the agreement's meaning. If I thought I needed a lawyer to read the agreement, or to fight to have it enforced in a good faith, I would have gone elsewhere. The bottom line: KOB made a mistake that cost us $2k, and instead of taking responsibility they blamed us for it.

So if you choose to work with KOB, be aware:

You can expect them to be responsive and helpful before you pay, but not if you have an issue. All the negative reviews on google describe this dynamic. To be fair to the employees, it appears they are understaffed, there is a lack of clear accountability, and the owner seems to be disengaged/off managing other businesses. It makes sense that they'd focus their time on customers who haven't closed a deal. But just know that you can't rely on them if you have an issue. Hopefully it will work out fine for you, but you're rolling the dice.

802 Cabinets are a great product, but you can buy them elsewhere. 802 Cabinets we can recommend, but they ought to reconsider KOB as a partner unless KOB can improve their service.

Their "fine print", in our case, was used to argue we were responsible for a mistake that was clearly theirs. We verified our order; we didn't expect their designer to arbitrarily change the measurements of the room in between design sessions. If you can't trust them to keep a good faith agreement, do you really want to be giving them tens of thousands of dollars?

Hate to write a bad review for a local business. But one of the major selling points of working with a local business is you expect them to act like human beings. Whether this was the decision of the owner, or Katelyn who was in charge in his absence, they will avoid taking common sense responsibility for a mistake that clearly should sit outside the scope of our agreement. A company responsible for an order that costs as much as some people's yearly salaries should have some common decency when addressing their mistakes. Buyer Beware!

I had a really great experience with KOB for kitchen design assistance,
cabinetry, countertop referral and customer service. Brianna was fantastic, knowledgeable and so very responsive, making the process really easy. I am thrilled with the quality of the cabinets and I’m so happy that I chose KOB to work with. I highly recommend KOB.

My wife and I have been working with Simon at KOB on a very complicated kitchen where we are keeping some of our cabinets and replacing some. For the cabinets that we are keeping we have a cabinetmaker replicating the door fronts to match the new KOB cabinet doors. Simon proved us with a sample door for our cabinetmaker to use and with the Bolton Green color specs so we can have our cabinets sprayed to match. All of this was to make this new kitchen fit our budget, even though it meant less cabinets from KOB. That fact did not affect the service we received from Simon. We give 5 STARS for Simon and KOB
