I called Korpaczewski & Son Asphalt for a quote. They responded within a couple of hours and scheduled an on-site visit for the following evening. The owner John arrived as scheduled. John immediately recognized that the garage was a little lower than the old driveway and based on the existing grade water was most likely pooling at the end of the driveway. It does! We were specifically concerned with water potentially building up in an area between the house, porch, garage and a high section of lawn. He clearly explained his recommendations to regrade and contour the area so the water would flow away from the structures. The day John and his team arrived to remove the old driveway, grade and lay the base for the new driveway, he took the time to beautifully contour the lawn area next to the house, going well above and beyond expectations!! John and his team came back the following week to lay the asphalt. We were extremely impressed with how well his team worked together. They all knew their tasks and went about their jobs upon arrival until finishing. These folks work like a well oiled machine! John’s knowledge and integrity was obvious from our first meeting. John and his team didn’t disappoint on any aspect of the job! We highly recommend Korpaczewski & Son Asphalt to anyone looking to have a new driveway or any other service that they provide! It was difficult to estimate the job last winter because of the snowpack and they gave me an excellent value so I didn't mind paying a very small surcharge for quite a bit of additional work. We contacted multiple paving companies and drove to look at examples of the results from several contractors, then contacted two companies for quotes. John’s son came to meet with us, and explained every aspect of the process in detail, with supporting brochures, as he measured and developed the quote. His slightly higher quote was worth every penny and more! Their processes, their professionalism, and their attention to detail are unmatched. John and his team removed our 36-year old driveway, and installed recycled asphalt as a base. They allowed that base layer to settle for two weeks, and upon their return, analyzing how the base had settled, John told us that he wanted to ensure good drainage by creating a gravel strip along the length of the driveway that, combined with a very slight slope on the driveway would divert water to limit puddling on the very flat surface. This extra step added significant effort, time, and material cost to the project. John, however, insisted that he honor the original estimate, even though we felt we should be responsible for the additional cost. He explained that his business was founded on principles of integrity, and he firmly, but politely, declined our multiple requests to pay for the additional expenses. John and his son were present for all aspects of the project, and the team they head is experienced and professional. Their equipment is top-notch, and they worked efficiently as a well-oiled team, exhibiting punctuality and respect for each other, our property, and us as customers.
