They have all of the external signs of a well managed business and are obviously backed by masterful labor. In addition, combining our kitchen and dining rooms for a larger kitchen as well as a guest bath renovation requiring, painting, drywall, carpentry, electrical, HVAC and other services. They were very thorough and detailed in planning to completion. We wished so badly we could’ve pulled the trigger—their top-tier quality, seamless service, and rock-solid reliability had us hooked. But hey, budgets are budgets, and theirs landed over ours. (Though, for the right project or wallet, it might be spot-on!) We’ll be circling back when the stars (and funds) align. The kitchen had those particleboard cabinets with weird gaps, and the counters were peeling. Now the cabinets actually fit, the quartz counters look clean, and the backsplash ties it all together. I went back and forth too long on the backsplash choice (kind of wished I’d just trusted Charlie sooner), but in the end it works. The bathroom was a nightmare. Our old fiberglass shower was cracked and always looked dirty no matter how much we scrubbed. They ripped it out and built a tiled walk-in with a niche for shampoo and a glass door that makes the space feel a lot bigger. They also re-did the floor so it drains properly, which we didn’t even realize was an issue until they pointed it out. The vanity and fixtures are simple but solid, which is exactly what we wanted. Process-wise, Carlton kept things moving and checked in often. He caught a cabinet order mistake before it got installed, which saved us some stress. Not everything was perfect. A couple of the subs weren’t the best about cleaning up, and the project ran about a week longer than expected, but communication was steady and there were no big surprises. Our project was quickly turned over to Carlton, who was at times condescending and/or argumentative. Our estimate seemed clear, but so many or our intentions that were discussed with Charlie were not followed. It seemed like at every question about the requirements we were pointed to the estimate that clearly was not clear. I suppose we learned a lesson in writing requirements in an estimate - be ridiculously specific and clear. The timeline we were given was not realistic and the project took much longer than expected. Communication was sub par.
