He spent nearly an hour conducting a thorough inspection with detailed photos, explaining the entire system layer by layer—from materials and ventilation to waterproofing and timelines. This level of transparency gave us the confidence to move forward, especially given their competitive pricing and flexible 12-month financing options. The installation process was impressively organized. Our Project Manager, Drew, provided access to a live project tracking portal so we could monitor progress in real-time. Later, when we had a concern about a downspout, Jordan (Warranty Claims Inspector) came out to perform a comprehensive inspection. He was honest and thorough, confirming the system was functioning perfectly and that the issue was simply temporary ice buildup rather than an installation defect. Since completion, the system has already been "battle-tested" by extreme weather. Shortly after the install, we experienced a heavy rainstorm followed by the most severe snowstorm the DMV has seen in five years. They subcontracted to very incompetent crews. First crew damaged all the window trim and several window screens the siding was not attached to the house securely. Left property messy, cigarette buts everywhere and their trash..the quality of work was very poor. Had to take down and redo. Second crew was even worse, did not think possible. Fired them after 8 months trying to get them to finish the job correctly. We have had no gutters on our house for 8 months. We gave them approximately 26% down payment, which in ohio is illegal, only allowed 10% or less, we were not aware, until we obtained the services of a lawyer to get our down payment back. Sales person was incompetent and did not know the siding business at all. (Hindsight). Per contract supposed to wrap whole house with vapor barrier, discovered that did not happen. I could go on and on, they did nothing right. Hired new company to do it correctly. Ended up costing more, because they brought to our attention that they would have to remove the 80 year old stucco, because they could not get the new firing strips to hold. Whether Home Genius knew this or not, they did not present that potential problem to us! If we would have them finish the job, we would have many issues with Home Genius install, as mentioned previously, customer service sucks. Not one sincere apology from any one at home Genius. Jordan and his install crew did a great job! They had all the wrap and siding installed in one day with having to return for just an hour the next day to finish caulking and re-installing our downspouts. From quoting to installation, the whole project was completed in less than a week. Everyone we worked with was great! Eric (sales) was so friendly and helpful, he really made us feel comfortable with our decision to use them for this project. Stacey (scheduling) was great with communication and even made sure to get me in contact with a Senior PM, Jon, just to make sure we had a point of contact when Jordan was dealing with a bit of car trouble one morning. Home Genius completed my roof, gutters, and vinyl siding in 2021. As of January 1, 2026, the siding is detaching from my home and actively coming off the structure. I contacted Home Genius today to inquire about warranty coverage. I was informed by a representative, in an unprofessional and dismissive manner, that the two-year workmanship warranty had expired and that no repairs would be made. This outcome is not surprising given the issues that occurred during and immediately after the project in 2021. My signature was electronically affixed to a document stating that the work had been completed, despite the fact that the project was incomplete at the time. As a result, my loan provider released payment to Home Genius for a job that was not finished. During this period, I was in frequent communication with both the project manager and the sales representative regarding unresolved issues, including incomplete roofing and gutter work, construction debris left in my driveway, and wood that was supposed to be replaced but was not. I also experienced a significant and unexplained cost increase. I was initially quoted one price, then later told additional wood was required, increasing the total cost to over $30,000—more than double the original estimate. Despite this claim, when I later inspected my attic, I observed that none of the existing wood had been replaced. Instead, I found exposed nails protruding inward, visible gaps in the roof, and areas where asphalt shingles could be seen from inside the attic. The gutters were improperly installed, with drainage directed toward the foundation rather than away from it. I am not a construction professional, yet these defects were obvious without specialized training. I have written communications from both the project manager and the sales representative acknowledging that the work did not meet what was agreed upon and indicating that corrective action would be taken. Aside from removing debris from my driveway, no meaningful repairs were ever completed. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in 2021. In response, Home Genius dismissed my concerns and stated that I did not understand the issues I was raising.
