I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience needs to be documented so other homeowners understand what they may be dealing with.

Back in August, we hired High 5 Plumbing for an electrical service upgrade due to issues at our home. The scope included installing a new breaker panel, a sub-panel, and replacing several outlets. The job was sold to us as a one-day project for just under $12,000.

Payment and billing were handled very quickly. Unfortunately, the same level of urgency did not exist when it came to completing the work correctly.

Most of the installation was performed by an apprentice while the experienced technician was repeatedly pulled away to run other service calls. What was promised as a one-day job turned into three separate workdays spread across roughly two weeks and weekends.

The workmanship is not code compliant. The electrical inspector has now failed the project twice. The panel door does not properly open, and the inspector confirmed the installed sub-panel was not even listed on the permit. The inspector also indicated the installation may need to be removed and redone entirely in order to pass inspection.

I was instructed to schedule the inspections myself. After the first failed inspection, no one from the company contacted me. Concerned about the permit expiring and potentially being responsible for additional permit fees, I scheduled another inspection on my own. The morning of that inspection I received a call from the company stating they “noticed the final inspection wasn’t scheduled.” I was told someone would follow up.

That call occurred on February 6th, the day of the second failed inspection. According to my call log, that was the last time anyone from High 5 Plumbing contacted me. As of today, more than a month later, I still have not received a single follow-up call.

Additional problems with the job:
• A hole was cut in my garage drywall for an outlet that was never installed, leaving damage behind
• No cleanup was performed — I cleaned the jobsite myself
• The lead installer later returned over a weekend in his personal vehicle outside of normal company hours because he was concerned about being reprimanded by new management for the job not being completed on time, even though he had been scheduled on other service calls during the project

If this is the result of new management, it is a serious concern for both customer experience and the long-term reputation of the company.

As a homeowner, the most concerning part of this situation is that I now have electrical work in my home that has failed inspection twice. I do not currently have confidence that the installation was done safely, and I should not have to question whether the work performed in my home poses a potential fire hazard.

This work was performed in August, and months later I am still left with failed inspections, an open permit tied to my property, and electrical work that cannot be finalized.

Homeowners hire contractors to complete work properly and pass inspection. That has not happened here.

If High 5 Plumbing returns, corrects the installation to code, and closes the permit, I will update this review. Otherwise, I will be pursuing formal complaints through the appropriate consumer protection channels so this situation can be resolved.

Ruth!! What a savior!!! She was so smart and knew everything so fast! My place is not easy to deal with and she didn’t hesitate one bit! She worked so late just to make sure my townhome was taken care of! She explained everything she was doing to help a homeowner learn instead of just leaving me in the dark! Ruth you are the best and if you call high five ask for her ! You won’t be disappointed!! Great hire high five ! I’ll be recommending her to everyone !

Peyton was the technician who worked on my plumbing issues. He was prompt, courteous and informed me of what was happening.

The office also was very thorough as well and communication was top notch.

Highly recommend them for any plumbing issues you may have.

All of the workers we’ve interfaced with have been friendly and competent, but I no longer will be using this company because the workers seemingly get pressure from higher-ups to upsell. They tried to tell us that a new furnace would cost $20,000, and when we said we (obviously) would be getting other quotes, they tried to make the matter seem urgent and that any company quoting lower wouldn’t do a good job. We just had another company come out for a quote - not only was the quote less than half of that, they mentioned we likely don’t even need a furnace replacement (which makes sense, our furnace has been running fine, it just needed some maintenance).

Manny is a fabulous technician! He was prompt, thorough, and kind, which I truly value. He did an amazing job making sure we were up to code AND made sure we had heat before leaving for the day on a two day job. Manny and Leo worked together on the a/c unit on day 2 and were awesome! Thanks for the prompt and friendly service. We are grateful.
