I had a leak in my garage. I had three roofers, a plumber, and a different leak detection company come by and no one could figure out where the leak was coming from. I finally contacted Dr. Leaks. They were the only ones able to identify and fix the leak. They explained and documented everything very well. They also counseled against a more expensive repair that they didn't think was necessary. More than six months later, and everything is still dry! I highly recommend them.

I have two leaks in my house. At first I had a local highly rated plumbing company come to evaluate, and they couldn't find the leaks, for which they charged $150 in labor. So I called the leak Dr. team who sent three leak diagnosticians who methodically went through and tested all possible sources of the leaks. They found one on the roof and another from the bath tub after scouring the entire house they providing me with a detailed report of what needed to be done. They were professional and I highly recommend them to anyone with pesky leaks!

## FAQ
**Q: What service areas does Dr. Leaks cover for leak detection and repair in Washington DC?**
A: Dr. Leaks provides leak detection and repair services throughout the Washington, D.C. metro area, including neighborhoods like Adams Morgan, Capitol Hill, and Brookland. If you're unsure about your location, contact us at 202-875-7519 to confirm coverage. We specialize in addressing leaks in both historic rowhomes and modern builds across this region.

**Q: How does Dr. Leaks detect mysterious leaks in Washington DC homes?**
A: Our team uses thorough diagnostic processes, including accessing adjacent areas, detailed measurements, and targeted inspections like opening drywall ceilings to trace water paths. We account for D.C.'s unique challenges such as aging infrastructure, shifting clay soil, and worn waterproofing in older plumbing systems. This approach ensures we identify root causes, like separated cast iron pipes, without unnecessary repairs.

**Q: What types of leaks does Dr. Leaks repair in Washington DC properties?**
A: We handle a variety of leaks, including flooded basements, ceiling and window leaks, roof leaks, and intermittent mystery leaks common in D.C.'s historic and contemporary homes. Our experts focus on plumbing-related issues exacerbated by frequent rain, harsh winters, and dense soil that causes water to linger beneath foundations. Repairs are completed efficiently by professional technicians once the source is pinpointed.

**Q: What is the leak detection process like with Dr. Leaks in Washington DC?**
A: The process begins with a clear explanation of diagnostics and scheduling, typically within a few weeks, followed by on-site investigation involving photographs, measurements, and accessing potential source areas like walls or units above. We emphasize patience, advising against cosmetic fixes like drywall patches until the leak source—such as a faulty coupling in cast iron piping—is fully addressed. A detailed professional report documents findings, helping resolve issues with building associations if needed.

**Q: How does Dr. Leaks handle leaks in older Washington DC buildings?**
A: In D.C.'s century-old rowhomes and early 20th-century cottages, we navigate complex architecture and aging plumbing systems prone to separation or wear from soil shifts and waterproofing failures. Our thorough investigations, informed by local climate factors like lingering rainwater, uncover stubborn leaks that previous contractors missed. Clients appreciate our respectful, communicative approach that treats homeowners as partners in resolving long-standing issues.

**Q: Can Dr. Leaks provide a detailed report after leak detection in Washington DC?**
A: Yes, after our investigation, we deliver a comprehensive report with photographs, measurements, and clear documentation of the leak source, such as a separated pipe or roof penetration issue. This report has helped clients like those in multi-unit buildings shift responsibility and costs to associations. It's designed to support informed decisions and prevent recurring problems in D.C.'s challenging environments.

**Q: What do customers say about Dr. Leaks' repair services for roof and toilet leaks in DC?**
A: Homeowners praise our quick response and professional repairs for roof leaks and second-floor toilet issues, noting no problems since completion and efficient handling of additional detections. Technicians are courteous, clean up thoroughly, and communicate well, especially in occupied spaces within older D.C. buildings. Our focus on root causes ensures lasting fixes without multiple contractor visits.
