As a woman, I’ve unfortunately experienced being treated unfairly at other shops, and I’ve had places create more issues than they fixed. But when I met Jose and Dante, everything changed. From day one, they treated me with respect, integrity, and transparency. They took the time to explain things clearly and made sure I felt confident and reassured that my car was truly in good hands. After going through multiple mechanics in the past, I can honestly say I will only bring my car to Eurotech now. Hands down, this is the best place for service and care. Our only "go to" for our vehicle. - 1/5 — Anonymous Horrendous Communication and Price Manipulation I booked my car in to Euro-Tech to diagnose and repair a possible hydraulic tensioner and drive belt on my 981 Spyder. I am new to the area coming from OC, so I had to take a chance on a new mechanic. These guys are the closest to my home. When I called Euro-Tech I received a quote and time estimate over the phone to which I agreed and made a reservation. Fast forward to the day of service - I dropped the car off and headed home. They gave me a "quote" in writing - $0.00 which is absolutely meaningless - see attached photo. Nearly the whole day goes by, I have to call them to check in and see what's going on. They haven't even started on the car yet. I wait another couple hours and finally hear back that the problem is in fact what I suspected and they are quoting me $300 MORE (!) for the work itself than what they did over the phone. I ask if the scope of work has changed - nope, it hasn't. So why the extra upcharge? An argument ensues. Ultimately, the representative asks me "What number would make you happy?" To which I kept replying that I want the number quoted to me over the phone before I made my reservation. The shop NEVER sent a quote prior to me booking the car in, so no one has evidence of that price quote. It was an incredible headache, and ultimately he did some calculations and offered the exact price he quoted me over the phone in the first place. I was enraged. In addition to the service on the engine, I asked if they could register in a new battery I had installed on the car using their OBDII tool. The representative replied that they can ONLY do coding on Porsche branded batteries because of the QR code. Speaking to my usual shops and other Porsche owners in SoCal, I came to learn that this is absolutely false. The battery I installed is the literal manufacturer for Porsche (Interstate aka VARTA) and is white-labeled by Porsche and all other German marques. It does, in fact, have the QR code he mentioned in order to register it to the car. Yet another lie borne of incompetence causing a barrier to getting what I need done. I get a call that the car is ready for pickup. During this time I have been provided NO evidence of the diagnosis nor the repair. Every other modern mechanic I've been to will provide a video explanation of what they diagnosed as well as a wrap-up video showing the work they've done to fix the problem. Nope. Not here. I came back, paid the bill, and left. Did they even do the work they took my money for? I have no idea because they showed me absolutely no before and after evidence so for all I know they just took my money. Absolutely incredible that they're getting away with this in the modern era. I won't be back.
