They said it’s because “two people in the past year refused to pay”. I asked why, since people don’t refuse to pay for no reason, and was informed that it’s because they start billing at $140 an hour for their drive time to the property. I do property management and have worked with dozens of contractors and never had a policy like this. It makes it so they have no incentive to schedule jobs intelligently since drive time is paid for. Most of my contractors organize jobs throughout the week based on location. With their policy you could live in St Pete and if they have a job in Clearwater before you be hit with an additional minimum $70 charge if there’s no traffic.
