Recently had a bi-annual HVAC check-up appointment; however, they sent a plumber. Cody, extremely nice and polite. He apologized, tried to get a tech out, but too late in the day. He calls the office, and Cody tells me someone will call me the next day to reschedule the appointment. Great. Thank you Cody. I wait and wait -- no one ever calls. So four days later, I call to reschedule the appointment. It was like an act of congress to try to explain to Yani what happened and why I needed to make a new appointment. Now I have a new appointment in April. Hopefully this time they will send the correct tech. - 5/5 — Anonymous My furnace stopped heating. AirNow responded very quickly to assess the situation. The technicians & their boss were very polite, extremely knowledgeable, & explained the problems & my options. I feel confident that AirNow will have my new system installed & running very soon. Thank you, AirNow. Happy to add... my new system is operating well. A team showed up with the new equipment, bright & early on a Saturday. They got right to work, carefully placing tarps to protect my floors & gently removing a door & wood trim. The guys certainly know what they're doing; focused on attention to detail. They walked me thru the process, carefully explained operation & maintenance, & ensured that manuals were received. When the job was complete, they cleaned up all debris. I highly recommend AirNow to anyone looking for routine maintenance, repairs, or replacement of equipment. There was no high pressure sale. Everyone I worked with during this process was polite, respectful, & professional. Thank you, AirNow, for providing an HVAC system that I am confident will serve me well for decades to come & an excellent 10 year warranty. - 1/5 — Anonymous I won’t use AirNow again because they failed to fix and missed a chronic evaporator coil leak. Poor service, troubleshooting, and diagnostics. I have a 2017 Lennox unit that AirNow installed. In 2022, AirNow determined the evaporator coil was leaking, it needed to be replaced and would be covered by warranty. After a couple of months of waiting, a new coil showed up, but AirNow had ordered the wrong coil so it wouldn’t fit my unit. The AirNow tech said I could wait months for the correct coil to show up, meaning months of no AC, or he could fix the coil leak. So, faced with months of no AC, I agreed to letting him fix the coil leak. So yesterday AirNow determined the AC isn’t working because the coil is leaking, again—the same coil that was leaking in 2022 that AirNow stated they fixed. And AirNow wants over $3,300 to replace the coil that was supposed to be replaced under warranty in 2022. Between 2022 and 2024, I always paid the monthly membership dues, and twice a year they would check the unit and add refrigerant. I always mentioned the previous coil leak and that the unit was struggling, but was reassured by the AirNow tech that the unit was okay. Instead, I was talked into buying stuff for the unit that wasn’t needed and didn’t fix the problem. - 3/5 — Anonymous Having a salesman show up to home with technician to swindle my wife into replacing a less than 6 year old AC unit was a huge red flag. Wasted $49 to get nothing done. Called an honest company out and had it fixed in less than 30 minutes. Hayden (salesman) and Anthony (tech) are not even options on site to leave feedback so I am putting on here. Update: GM Mr. Q reached out and assured he will coach his guys on the situation. Said if I ever need them it will be on them and gave me his direct number. I appreciate the apology and closure. The call is a move in the right direction to restore my confidence and that is why I moved my ratings from previous 1 star. - 1/5 — Anonymous My air handler stopped running, so I called AirNow. To their credit, they were able to come out a day earlier than my scheduled appointment. The AirNow technicians inspected the unit and told me there was a short. They worked on the system, charged me $200, and repeatedly attempted to upsell additional services while on site. After they left, the unit was running again. However, about 3–4 days later the unit shut down again with the same issue. At that point, I contacted the technician who originally installed the system, who works for a different HVAC company, to inspect it. During his inspection, he discovered that the AirNow technician had bypassed or disabled multiple safety mechanisms on the unit in order to make it run. This was never disclosed to me, and I would NOT have approved disabling safety mechanisms if it had been explained to me. The second technician properly diagnosed and repaired the issue by fixing the electrical short and replacing the defrost board. He also said that the defrost board may have been damaged by the AirNow technician. Since this repair, the system has been running normally with no further issues. Ultimately, I paid $200 to AirNow for a service visit that did not resolve the problem, bypassed built-in safety protections without my knowledge, and may have contributed to additional component damage.
