Ferry Landing Condominium Association (FLCA), Portsmouth RI - Roof Replacement Project (RRP) Three years ago, FLCA formed a Building Committee to review, study, recommend, and prepare for a complete roof replacement project. The project was for 13 buildings with 73 individual homes. The project scope consisted of replacing all roofing materials, waterproofing, trim, balconies, skylights, and cedar shingle siding above the roofline. The committee prepared a detailed and comprehensive bid and specification package and sent it to 15 contractors who had expressed interest in the project. After careful analysis, background checks, and a successful competitive bid, A-1 Roofing and Construction Co.(A-1) was chosen to perform the work. The Ferry Landing homeowners approved the budget and the contractor, and the RRP work began in March 2025. A-1 was responsible for all the permits, materials, and labor. The overall RRP was substantially complete at the end of August 2025. The difficult logistics of completing a project of this size couldn’t then and can’t now be overstated. Working around owners, weather issues, storing materials, and clean-up were on-going challenges. A-1 and their subcontractors needed to work through those challenges, and they were constantly recognized by the owners for their professionalism, friendliness and expertise. A-1 and their leadership team were constantly on-site to handle any issues and met regularly with the FLCA leaders for updates and project coordination. This was a major undertaking for the homeowners at Ferry Landing as we invested in the future of our property. A-1 proved to all of us at Ferry Landing that they are leaders in their industry. We made the right choice of contractor and were fortunate to have had them on our project. The results achieved were commendable. Thanks to A-1 for a job well done!

A1 Roofing were really great. We were very impressed by our whole experience with them. We recently requested a quote to re-do our patio area, and rebury a French drain pipe that had surfaced from frost heaves. Our home was also at the age where we needed a new roof. We are very pleased with the prompt quote response and the fabulous job Sean’s crew did in constructing our new patio and completing both jobs in time for our daughter’s visit! We love our new patio! The crew worked hard, did thorough preparation to protect our deck plants and landscaping before removing the old roof, and were meticulous in their clean up . The crew were polite, and hard workers.
