I live out in the country and they recently brought natural gas to us, which is a huge advantage over Propane however, I needed the furnace and everything converted inside the house to be able to use my natural gas It was a little bit of a sticker shock to find out how much that cost along with paying $7000 to DTE for them to run gas to my home……. In addition to the $2700 I had to pay A&B which is actually a bargain…. You’ll soon find out as you read on. Honestly, I was kinda unsure about these folks when I first called , the gentlemen that came out he wasn’t that bad he tried to sell me a new furnace but you know that’s his job and I respect that They quoted me for the work I had four other companies come out ,four other businesses they were higher, but some of them wouldn’t even do the work without replacing the furnace because the bottom of the furnace had some surface Rust rust on its legs but it wasn’t like the thing was falling apart. It’s literally only like 20 years old. And I know a little bit about these things not much, but probably more than most. And yes, I could’ve probably used the new furnace, but how much more efficient could it be? And how many more Electronics would’ve been in it? That would be prone to failure from moisture and age.? I knew my furnace worked. I knew it worked well. Don’t replace what is broken repair it whenever you can. So I didn’t get the new furnace they did however have to make a total of three trips over here to get my furnace to work. I don’t think it was any fault of theirs. I think it was just the conversion from propane to natural gas. I was quite surprised They didn’t charge me extra. They didn’t mention it. They did what they quoted. That was also another surprise. You gotta keep in mind that when people do work like this, it’s called an “estimate” for a reason. I will certainly be calling them because I know my central air is not working. Hopefully they can repair it over replacing it. Something else that I should point out when I called them they actually came… I think you’re gonna find when you talk to contractors most of them don’t actually show up. There’s so much work and they make so much money that they don’t even get back to you and tell you how much they would charge you if they even wanted to do the work. ….. maybe it was location in proximity to their headquarters or maybe it is they just do as they say, which is what we really expect. Honestly, as homeowners we don’t expect companies to just blow us off. fast and efficient. I say if you’re not gonna do the work, why you even answer the phone? The installation was handled by Ryan, who was punctual and professional. He completed the work efficiently and ensured everything was working perfectly before leaving. Tom did a great job fixing our Navien water heater. He diagnosed the problem and fixed it quickly. He also corrected other items from the original installation which was done by a different company that is no longer in business due to the owner retiring.
